Our Chef Ryan Walsh
Ryan Walsh is new to the press up team having started in the Butler Arms in August 2022. Previously Ryan was the head chef in the Royal hotel on Valentia island where Ryan is from. As it happens The Royal Hotel in Valentia was originally a sister hotel of the Butler Arms in another lifetime. Ryan loves working with local produce and suppliers and building long term relationships with them. As a chef he likes to develop modern dishes from old classics and having come from an island he obviously favours fish dishes. Ryan is a busy family man when not at work, and is well supported by a superb kitchen brigade, who have dived headfirst with him and his new ideas and menu concepts. Looking ahead Ryan plans to create a unique dining experience in south Kerry from breakfast to dinner and all in between!
The Butler Arm’s very own shebeen style pub has a welcoming and traditional style bar atmosphere. We serve a large selection of draft stouts and beers as well as has an extensive selection of whiskeys and spirits. The Fishermen’s bar also has a fantastic bar menu full of local specialties from our famous seafood chowder to our Mussels from Cromane as well as our famous Rib Eye Steak. The Fishermen’s is also a great spot for live music.
Sit by the fireplace, and enjoy a cigar accompanied by a wonderful whiskey or cocktail. Our Whiskey lounge is the perfect place to relax after a full day of golf, cycling or horse trekking.
